I would like to introduce you to Nathan Tuch. Nathan took a big step into the world of RC Flying with encouragement from Steve Fyfe. Nathan has turned his interest in flying into a school project. Steve donated a trainer kit for Nathan to build. Steve and Intro pilot Bob Copeland gave Nathan and his father Mike a safety lesson. The weather produced swirling and gusting winds. Despite mother natures attempt to hinder flying, Nathan took to the skies. Bob Copeland’s guidance had Nathan flying the pattern his first time up. Thanks to Steve and Bob for their promotion of our hobby and our club. When you see Nathan at the field, ask him how his building project is going. (Pictures submitted by Lori Baker.)
Before our June meeting Paul Meyer and Mike Jones got in stick time. Bob Copeland showed off his homemade camera mount. We hope to display Bob’s video of his Ross Field flight on the ORCF website. Watch for it! After the meeting Jim Vroman and Bob Reynolds demonstrated their skills.
Many hands make easy work. A new tarp was installed over our picnic area. The old tarp served us well, but it was letting in too much sunshine. It had to be sunshine. It can’t rain at Ross Field when you are flying. Job well done!! The first ORCF picnic of the 2010 season will be Father’s Day June, 20th at Noon. Bring family, planes, beverage and a dish to pass.
